Frequently Asked Questions
What is the difference between Keratin, Botox, Nano Plastia, and Boto Plastia?
Keratin smooths and de-frizzes by coating the hair shaft. Hair Botox is a deep conditioning treatment that fills gaps in the cuticle for softness and shine without straightening. Nano Plastia and Boto Plastia are advanced smoothing treatments that penetrate deeper into the hair structure for longer-lasting results with added hydration.
How long do chemical smoothing treatments last?
Keratin treatments typically last 3–5 months. Nano Plastia and Boto Plastia can last 4–6 months. Results depend on your hair type, aftercare routine, and how frequently you wash your hair.
Will my hair become completely straight after treatment?
Keratin and smoothing treatments reduce frizz and enhance manageability — they don't always deliver bone-straight results unless you opt for a full straightening or rebonding service. Your stylist will advise based on your hair type and desired outcome.
Are chemical treatments safe for colour-treated or damaged hair?
Hair Botox and Boto Plastia are actually beneficial for damaged or coloured hair as they restore moisture and strength. Keratin and permanent straightening are generally done on hair in reasonable condition — our stylist will assess suitability during your consultation.
How soon can I wash my hair after a chemical treatment?
Most treatments require you to wait 48–72 hours before washing your hair. During this curing period, avoid tying, clipping, or tucking your hair to prevent kinks or marks.
Can I color my hair before or after a chemical treatment?
Coloring and chemical treatments should be done at least 2 weeks apart to avoid over-processing. Typically, color is applied before a smoothing treatment. Our stylist will advise on the ideal sequence for your hair.
Are these treatments safe during pregnancy?
Out of caution, we advise against chemical treatments during pregnancy as some formulas contain chemicals that may not be suitable. Please consult your doctor first, and inform us at the time of booking.
What shampoo should I use after a chemical treatment?
Always use a sulfate-free, sodium chloride-free shampoo after any smoothing or chemical treatment. Sulfates strip the treatment from hair faster and reduce longevity. We can recommend suitable products for home use.
How do I maintain my treatment results at home?
Use treatment-safe shampoo and conditioner, avoid excessive heat styling, apply a weekly hair mask, and minimize exposure to saltwater and chlorine. These steps can significantly extend the life of your treatment.
Can I get a smoothing treatment on short or very fine hair?
Yes, smoothing treatments work on all hair lengths and most textures. For very fine hair, we use lighter formulations to avoid weighing the hair down. Your stylist will select the most appropriate product for your hair type.
